WAY TO PROLONG THE SERVICE LIFE OF PROPORTIONAL COUNTERS Abstract of Disclosure The invention concerns a way to prolong the service life of pro- portional counters, there being added to the gas mixture con- sisting of a rare gas and a hydrocarbon, serving as gas filling in the counters, hydrogen gas in the amount of 0.05-5.0% by weight, preferably 0.1-2.0% by weight. In addition, the hydrogen gas may in part at least be deuterium.
