Location-aware electronic devices have the capacity to assign data to specific locations in the geosphere, called waypoints. These waypoints are usually exclusively located on each owner's specific device, or they may be copied to catalogs or databases of waypoints. This invention is a public waypoint database, with methods of making available waypoints directly from the user's device, and methods of delivering waypoints over a network from the database to the devices of other users based on location coordinates and keyword subjects. Further, this invention allows for waypoints to be associated with data files of other types that may be downloaded from available networks, thus expanding the content of the waypoint to include other media, such as text, images, audio and video.
