The invention relates to a WDM optical communication system, which is used in an optical transmission path including a dispersion-shifted optical fiber having zero-dispersion wavelength in a 1.55 µm band and effectively controls the waveform deterioration attributed to optical nonlinearity of signal light in a 1.58 µm band. The WDM optical communication system includes a hybrid transmission unit having a single-mode optical fiber and a dispersion-shifted optical fiber along the path of the signal light. The single-mode optical fiber has zero-dispersion wavelength in a 1.3 µm band, and has an effective cross-sectional area ASMF at a wavelength of 1.58 µm. The dispersion-shifted optical fiber has zero-dispersion wavelength in a 1.55 µm band, and has dispersion whose absolute value is greater than 0.5 ps/nm/km at a wavelength of 1.58 µm and an effective cross-sectional area ADSF smaller than the sectional area ASMF of the single-mode optical fiber.
L'invention porte sur un système de communication MRL utilisé dans une voie de transmission optique comprenant une fibre optique à dispersion décalée dont la longueur d'onde de dispersion nulle est comprise dans une bande de 1,55 µm et qui jugule efficacement la détérioration de la longueur d'onde attribuée à une non linéarité optique du signal lumineux dans une bande de 1,58 µm. Ce système de communication optique MRL comprend une unité de transmission hybride possédant une fibre optique monomode et une fibre otique à dispersion décalée le long du trajet du signal lumineux. La fibre optique monomode a une longueur d'onde de dispersion nulle dans une bande de 1,3 µm et une section transversale efficace A¿SMF? à une longueur d'onde de 1,58 µm.
