The invention relates to a cooling system (4) comprising a fixing end (26) for fixing to a weapon component (6), in particular a locking piece. A heat insulation sleeve (30) runs from the fixing end (26) towards the mouth of the weapon, said sleeve surrounding the bore (2) without touching the latter, thus forming a cavity (36) that opens towards the mouth between the bore (2) and the heat insulation sleeve (30). The invention also relates to a weapon (1) comprising a cooling system of this type (4).
