The invention relates to a weapon with an interchangeable barrel (4), a barrel locking device (22) which locks the interchangeable barrel (4) in the weapon, and a safety mechanism, which can assume a locked state in which the weapon cannot be fired and a free state in which the weapon can be fired. The safety mechanism interacts with the barrel locking device (22) such that it can assume its free state only when an interchangeable barrel (4) is locked in the barrel locking device (22).
