ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a wear resistant and hard composite material of titanium diboride and niobium nitride, and its method of manufacture. The new hard material is composed of 30-80 weight per cent of titanium diboride (TiB2) and 70-20 weight per cent of niobium nitride with a binder metal such as iron, nickel, cobalt, molybdenum or their alloys, up to 40 weight per cent.
