Disclosed herein are wearable devices (10) for dispensing insect repellents, fragrances, and/or other chemicals along the outside of the clothing of a human, to avoid the need to apply such chemicals directly to clothing or to human's skin. The devices have an on/off switch (18) that automatically controls a shutter (40) which enables and restricts air flow, while also controlling fan (21) operation and covering of a use-up cue (66). The device also is designed to prevent fan operation when an impregnated slab (60) is not present. Also disclosed are preferred refills for use with such devices.

L'invention concerne des dispositifs portatifs pour asperger des répulsifs anti-insectes, des parfums, et/ou d'autres produits chimiques autour des vêtements d'un être humain, pour éviter le besoin d'appliquer ces produits chimiques directement sur les vêtements ou la peau humaine. Les dispositifs ont un commutateur marche/arrêt qui commande automatiquement un volet qui libère ou restreint un flux d'air, tout en contrôlant le fonctionnement du ventilateur et délivrant un signal à l'épuisement du produit. Le dispositif est également conçu pour empêcher le fonctionnement du ventilateur quand un bloc imprégné n'est pas présent.
