ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An insulative tension device comprising an elongated core of electrically insulative material, a sheath of rubber- ized composition overlying the core, with an interface between the core and the sheath, a rubberized bonding agent bonding the sheath to the core and sealing the interface therebetween, with the sheath being composed of a mixture of ethylene- propylene-diene-terpolymer, flame retardant, plasticizer and fillers, combined in proportions so as to be dry to the touch.
