A web assembly machine is disclosed for producing a laminated material to be cut laterally into test strips for medical test kits. The machine includes a frame rotatably supporting a plurality of reels. A first reel carries a supply of membrane material. The membrane material has a reagent thereon for indicating a condition of a sample to be tested. A second reel carries a supply of transfer material. The transfer material transfers the sample to the membrane material. A third reel carries a supply of absorbent material. The absorbent material absorbs sample from the membrane material. A strip block is mounted to the frame including plural slots, at least two of the slots being in different planes and each slot being in overlapping relationship to at least one other slot. Each material passes through one of the slots to align the materials relative to one another. Adhering means adhere the aligned materials to one another to produce the laminated material.
