ABSTRACT A method and an apparatus for forming a web in a papermaking machine are disclosed. The stock is sprayed out on the wire through a nozzle and the web is formed in a space between an upper lip and a portion of the wire. The dewatering is effected in this space by means of an overpressure between the upper lip and the wire.
