ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A web slitter includes a ultrasonic horn and a plurality of laterally spaced anvil rollers coacting with the ultrasonic horn for dividing a web including a thermoplastic synthetic resin into a plurality of narrower strips of web. The anvil rollers are movable toward and away from the ultrasonic horn independently of each other. A plurality of drive mechanism are operatively connected with the anvil rollers, respectively, for driving the latter.
