In order to be able to manufacture large-caliber reels of high quality in a twin drum reel-up, the king rolls (11) and (12) have different, diameters and are situated at different elevations. The main load of the reel is carried by the king roll (11), while the kind roll (12) contacts the reel (13) with the smallest possible nip pressure which just suffices for transferring the torque difference required for generating the desired winding tension of the reel. The king roll (12) may be lowered as the diameter of the reel increases, namely depending on the fact if the winding shaft (13A) is displaced along a predetermined line of motion (14; 15), preferably a linear vertical or slightly tilted line of motion. The winding device may comprise displacing elements (20) in order to displace king roll (12) axially parallel with respect to the king roll (11). An articulated element (16) may allow detection of movements of the winding shaft (13A) and control of a displacing element (20) if the reel (13) is out of a given line of movement. An additional center drive which is made possible due to the aforementioned measures may additionally improve the winding result. A handling device (50) serves as a multifunction device for exchange of reels, in particular for the ejection of the reels, the clamping of the end of the web and the moving of the end of the web into the position for the next reel, as well as the separation of the finished reel from the web (1; 1'; 1"; ...).

Afin de pouvoir obtenir des bobines de gros calibre de bonne qualité avec une bobineuse à deux tambours, les tambours (11) et (12) ont des diamètres différents et sont situés à différentes hauteurs. Le poids de la bobine est surtout porté par le tambour (11), alors que le tambour (12) s'appuie avec une pression de contact aussi réduite que possible sur la bobine (13). Cette pression doit suffire pour transmettre à la bobine le couple différentiel requis pour générer la tension voulue de bobinage. A mesure que le diamètre de la bobine augmente, le tambour (12) peut être abaissé, à condition que l'axe d'enroulement (13A) se déplace le long d'une ligne de déplacement (14; 15) prédéterminée, de préférence droite, verticale ou légèrement inclinée. L'enroulement peut être davantage amélioré par un entraînement central supplémentaire rendu possible par le déplacement de l'axe d'enroulement. Un dispositif de manutention (50) sert de dispositif à fonctions multiples pour remplacer les rouleaux, notamment pour éjecter la bobine, pour serrer et mettre en position l'extrémité de la bande à embobiner et pour séparer la bobine finie de la bande de matériau (1; 1', 1'', ...).
