A webbing take-up device (10, 100), wherein a motor (44) is disposed just below a take-up shaft (20) between a pair of leg plates (16, 18) in the state of its rotating shaft (50) orthogonal to the take-up shaft (20), and a clutch (26) is disposed on the side of one leg plate (16). Also, the gear (76) of a motor gear part (46) is releasably connected to the worm gear (34) of a clutch gear part (28), a mounting stay (84) is detachably fitted to a case (30) with screws (86), and the motor (44) and the motor gear part (46) are formed in such a manner that can be separated from the case (30) in an assembled state. In addition, a pretensioner mechanism (56) and a sensor mechanism (82) are disposed at one end of a spool (18), and an energizing mechanism (36) is disposed at the other end of the spool (18).
