WEDGE BASE LAMP SOCKET ASSEMBLY ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved socket member for wedge base type incandescent lamp is disclosed which includes particular engagement means for an insulated wire conductor permitting the wire conductor to be held in place during final installation of the lamp and socket assembly in various product applications and provides the final electrical connection to said wire conductor by a mechanical crimping action. The desired cooperation is achieved by terminating conductive metal strips that serve to make electrical contact in the socket member in a contour which physically grips the wire conductor when inserted thereinto and with piercing elements being included in said engagement means to effect the electrical termination when the contoured end is crimped to further secure the wire conductor in place. The preferred termination means further include other engagement elements which are bent around the metal strip when the contoured end is crimped.
