A reusable tile to be placed upon the ground to control weed growth is disclosed. The tile is preferably water permeable, light impermeable, decorative, and dense enough to prevent adverse weather from dislodging the tile. Holes and slots with various inserts provide for accommodation of a variety of plants. A plurality of perforated protrusions couple the tile to the soil and also allows water penetration below the tile and into the soil. The tile can further preferably be fastened to other tiles such that an area of virtually any size and shape can be covered while maintaining an effective low-maintenance weed barrier.
