A weed killing apparatus is provided having a fluid storage container connected to a poppet valve housing. The valve housing includes a valve seat and valve guide. Within the valve housing there is a poppet valve having a head, stem, and valve assembly. Said stem having an external threaded portion. Said stem passes through a valve guide, compression spring, and a series of washers. Threaded nuts are fastened on the stem threaded portion, compressing said spring, urging the valve downward in a normally closed position. The container has an inlet side for holding weed killing fluids on the upstream side of the valve. Human force strikes the weed with the valve housing and simultaneously activates the stem, pushing it inward, lifting the valve off of it's seat, allowing a fluid flow path to the exterior and outlet of said apparatus, surface wetting and killing the weed.
