A WEFT-INSERTING NEEDLE FOR SHUTTLELESS WEAVING LOOMS Abstract of the Disclosure Clamping of the weft thread is improved by means of a stationary jaw in the form of a hook which is rigidly fixed to the weft-inserting needle, and a pivotal moving jaw fitted with a pallet which is applied against the internal flank of the hook. The top surface of the pallet is inclined with respect to the flank at an angle which is open towards the rear of the needle so as to nip the weft thread between the stationary jaw and the moving jaw. -1-
