ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE Apparatus for weight measurement comprises a single wire mounted for tensioning by a weight to be measured. The wire is resonated, the frequency of resonation measured and the output from such frequency measurement applied to a programmable read only memory (PROM) which linearises such output to provide a signal indicative of the weight applied to the wire. The applied weight is shown upon a digital display driven by the output from the PROM. By this arrangement, accurate and consistent measurements over the full range of the scale are possible.
