ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to an improved weighing scale with a load cell of simple construction which overcomes the problem of an eccentric load acting on the beam so as to result in measurement error. It comprises a beam which is integral with and extends inwardly and horizontally from a perpendicular base which is secured to a fixed base, defining a parallelogram having four strain gauges bonded thereto. A load transmission section is integral with and extends inwardly and horizontally from a perpendicular moving side for bearing a load. Arms connect the upper and lower portions of the base side to those of the moving side, defining an integral parallelo- gram. A pivot shaft couples the tip of the beam to the load transmission section. The beam and the arm body are integrally shaped with a high level of accuracy and the beam has two flanges for fitting of a bellows for the protection of strain gauges bonded to the beam. The load cell is capable of pre- venting the application of excessive load to the beam by way of restrictive excessive movement of moving parts and of synthe- tically adjusting the temperature characteristics of electric circuit components wired electrically to the strain gauges.
