A pair of grain drills are positional for side by side operation in the field and connected to a towing tractor by weight transfer hitch having a rear end portion connected to the grain drills and a forward tongue portion having its front end connectable to the tractor drawbar and its rearward end totally connected to the forward end of the rear hitch portion for swinging about a transverse horizontal pivot. A hydraulic cylinder has its ends respectively connected to the tongue and the rear hitch portion and pressure to the cylinder is controlled by an adjustable pressure control valve that delivers pressurized fluid from the tractor hydraulic system to the cylinder at a pre-selected pressure below the tractor system pressure, whereby the force exerted by the cylinder on the tongue transfers a portion of the weight of the machine to the tractor drawbar.
Deux semoirs à céréales sont placés de manière à être utilisés côte à côte dans un champ et reliés à un tracteur les tirant au moyen d'un attelage de transfert du poids comportant une partie arrière rattachée aux semoirs à céréales et une partie avant de triangle d'attelage dont l'extrémité avant peut être rattachée à la barre d'attelage du tracteur et dont l'extrémité arrière est complètement rattachée à l'extrémité avant de la partie arrière de l'attelage de manière à osciller sur un pivot horizontal transversal. Les extrémités d'un vérin hydraulique sont respectivement reliées au triangle d'attelage et à la partie arrière de l'attelage, et la pression sur le vérin est commandée par une valve de régulation de pression qui transmet le fluide pressurisé du système hydraulique du tracteur au vérin à une pression préalablement choisie qui est inférieure à la pression du système du tracteur; de cette manière, la force exercée par le vérin sur le triangle d'attelage reporte une partie du poids de la machine à la barre d'attelage du tracteur.
