Abstract of the Disclosure A weighted telephone base in which a weight for increasing the heaviness of the base is housed in a downward extension structure to the base. This structure provides a recess which depends from the main chamber of the base thereby enabling the weight to be located away from the electronic features included in the base and hence enabling total designs considerations to be simplified. The base may be supported upon a support so as to present a shallow appearance to the base while the downward structure is disposed in a space formed between sidewalls of the support.
