ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE A closure device covers the inlet portal of a swimming pool weir. The closure device has a main opening that is controlled by a weir flap and a secondary opening to accommodate flexible piping leading to a pool cleaner, whereby water can be drawn into the weir simultaneously both through the flexible piping and the main opening. The weir flap has an elongated slot just below the upper edge.
