Weld Joint Hardbar Main Frame Abstract In a crawler vehicle, a support bar to main frame connection is provided which has adequate shear strength and flexibility. The support bar is shaped in line with the main frame beams so that the main frame beams seat therein. The junctions between the support bar and main frame beams are welded together. Angled plates are fitted between each side of each main frame beams and the support bar, which angled plates are welded to the beams and to the hardbar. The angled plates bridge the longitudinal welds between the support bar and the beams of the main frame to lend some flexibility to the junction therebetween.
