A welded multi-chamber hollow profile consists of a plurality of connected basic extruded aluminium profiles with rectangular chambers which, at least at one narrow end, change into an open rectangular profile and, at the open narrow end, each comprise upper and lower webs which are form-fittingly connected to the respective adjoining rectangular profile. The webs consist of a guiding web and a hook-shaped web and, opposite thereto, of a yoke-shaped web and a clip-shaped web, wherein the upper yoke of the yoke-shaped web is shortened relative to the lower yoke and wherein the clip-shaped web is shortened relative to the upper yoke. The guiding web and the hook-shaped web are 2 to 4 times longer than the yoke-shaped web and the clip-shaped web. In the region of a plug-in connection. formed by a guiding web and a yoke-shaped web, the basic profiles are welded together. For producing a welded multi-chamber hollow profile from individual hollow chamber basic profiles, an extruded hollow chamber basic profile is solution-annealed, quenched and quenchage hardened; thereafter, several hollow chamber profiles are arranged side by side on a roller track and, by applying lateral pressure to the narrow ends, said hollow chamber basic profiles are moved together to such an extent that the guiding web is slid into the yoke-shaped web and that the hook-shaped web is hooked into the clip-shaped web, with the form-fittingly connected hollow chamber basic profiles being thermally welded in the region of a welded joint produced from a guiding web and a yoke-shaped web.
