A device for welding together a first elongate work piece, such as a first rail, with the second elongate work piece, such as the second rail, and face to end face, by means of butt-weld resistance welding, particularly flash welding, comprising a frame structure and a carriage movably connected to said frame structure and slidable with respect thereto in the longitudinal direction of the work piece. The device further comprises a first clamping device mounted on said frame structure or parts associated therewith to fixedly clamp the first work piece, a second clamping device mounted on said carriage to fixedly clamp said secondwork piece, electrodes mounted on said frame structure etc. and the carriage or on the clamping devices to heat the work pieces to the desired welding temperature, and a press element to press the facing ends of the heated work pieces against one another in the longitudinal direction of the work pieces to form a bonding welding joint. The device likewise comprises at least two actuators which are individually controllable relatively to one another for turning the facing ends of the work pieces in such a manner that the transverse axes (t1, t2) and/or the vertical axes (h1, h2) and/or the longitudinal axes (l1,l2) of the work pieces form an angle .alpha., .beta., and .delta., respectively between one another, or in such a manner that an existing angle .alpha., .beta., and .delta., respectively, formed between the transverse axes (t1, t2) , and/or the vertical axes (h1, h2) and/or the longitudinal axes (l1, l2) respectively, of said work pieces is essentially eliminated prior to and/or during and/or after the pressing operation.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif permettant de souder une première pièce de forme allongée (1) telle qu'un premier rail, à une seconde pièce de forme allongée (2) telle qu'un second rail, bout à bout, selon le procédé de soudage en bout par résistance, plus particulièrement par soudage bout à bout par étincelage. Ce dispositif est constitué d'un châssis (3) et d'un chariot (4) accouplé de manière mobile et coulissante à ce châssis dans le sens de la longueur de la pièce. Le dispositif comporte également un premier organe de serrage (5a, 5b) monté sur le châssis (ou sur des pièces associées à ce châssis) et destiné à serrer fermement la première pièce (1), un second organe de serrage (9a, 9b) monté sur la chariot et destiné à serrer fermement la second pièce (2). Des électrodes (7, 11) montées, d'une part sur le châssis (ou sur les pièces associées à ce châssis), et d'autre part sur le chariot ou sur les organes de serrage, assurent le chauffage des pièces à la température de soudage désirée. Un organe de compression (13, 14, 15) applique l'un contre l'autre avec pression, dans le sens longitudinal, les bouts en vis-à-vis des pièces chauffées de façon à constituer entre eux le joint de soudure. De la même façon, le dispositif comporte au moins deux actionneurs (13, 14, 15) individuellement commandables les uns par rapports aux autres pour faire tourner les bouts en vis-à-vis des pièces (1, 2) de façon que les axes transversaux (t1, t2) et/ou les axes verticaux (h1, h2) et/ou les axes longitudinaux (l1, l2) des pièces forment respectivement entre eux des angles alpha , beta et delta , ou de façon que chacun des angles alpha , beta , et delta existants, respectivement formés entre les axes transversaux (t1, t2) et/ou les axes verticaux (h1, h2) et/ou les axes longitudinaux (l1, l2) des pièces, soient sensiblement éliminés, avant, et/ou pendant, et/ou après l'opération de compression.
