ABSTRACT There is proposed an electrode for welding multilayer steels with a stainless steel cladding. According to the invention, the electrode contains (percent by weight): molybdenum 0.2-8 substance selected from the group consisting of rare-earth metals and their oxides 0.01-0.5 carbon 0.01-0.3 silicon up to 2.0 manganese 0.2-10.0 chromium 18.0-50.0 nickel 10.0-55.0 boron 0.001-0.008 iron the balance Owing to the specified chemical composition the propo- sed electrode imparts high corrosion resistance to a welded joint, mechanical properties as good as thoseof parent metal and precludes liability to cracking.
