ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a welding mask assembly, a shield section having a viewing port defined by a peripheral frame; a lens pack mounted in the port; a cover member; and cooperating locking elements between the cover member and the frame. The cover member operates between a locked position support- ing the lens pack in the port and a released position permitting removal of the lens pack upon lateral movement of the cover member relative to the frame in only one predetermined plane. A spring element normally biases the cover member away from the plane.
