ABSTRACT: A method of manufacturing an anode for an X-ray tube, comprising a target disc and a cooling body. According to the invention, the material for the cooling body is deposited by plasma-MIG arc welding on a plate which is to form the target disc. Subsequently, the anode body thus obtained is formed into the ultimate anode by mechanical treatment. This method produces a very intimate adhesion as well as excellent heat conduction between target disc and cooling body. - 10 -
