An apparatus and method for determining resistivity of a formation (9) surrounding a borehole (7) comprises a housing (3), at least first and second transmitting antennas (T1, T2) affixed to the housing (3) for transmitting electromagnetic waves to the formation (9), and at least first and second receiving antennas (R1, R2) for detecting the electromagnetic waves. The first receiving antenna (R1) is affixed to the housing (3) at a position longitudinally located above the first and second transmitting antennas (T1, T2), and the second receiving antenna (R2) is longitudinally located below the first and second transmitting antennas (T1, T2). The measurements needed to calculate the resistivity of the formation (9) may be determined while drilling the borehole (7).

L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé permettant de déterminer la résistivité d'une formation (9) entourant un trou de forage (7), qui comprennent un boîtier (3), au moins une première et une seconde antennes émettrices (T1, T2) fixées au boîtier (3) et conçues pour émettre des ondes électromagnétiques vers ladite formation (9), et au moins une première et une seconde antennes réceptrices (R1, R2) conçues pour détecter les ondes électromagnétiques.
