A device for deflecting a liquid slurry flow in a housing away from an inlet flue conveying hot flue gas to the housing, the device having an upper surface and communicating with the housing at an inner wall of the housing. An inlet awning having a bottom portion horizontally extends into the housing from an upper surface of the inlet flue. An inclined top portion is connected to the bottom portion and an inner wall of the housing, the top portion extending upwardly at an incline from the bottom portion to the inner wall of the housing, the top portion having sufficient area to collect liquid slurry in excess of that required to achieve instant cooling and humidification of the hot flue gas, the top and bottom portions forming a tip at an area where the top portion is connected to the bottom portion. An extension outwardly extends from the tip of the inlet awning and slightly below the bottom portion of the inlet awning in order to deflect the liquid slurry flow away from the bottom portion of the inlet awning to keep the bottom portion dry and thereby prevent build-up of slurry deposits at the inlet flue.
Cette invention concerne un déflecteur de bouillie liquide servant à éloigner celle-ci d'un tube d'admission de gaz chauds, ledit déflecteur ayant une surface supérieure fixée à la paroi intérieure de l'enceinte où il est logé. Le déflecteur comporte une partie inférieure horizontale dans le prolongement de la paroi supérieure du tube d'admission des gaz chauds. Sa partie supérieure inclinée fait le pont entre sa partie inférieure et la paroi intérieure de l'enceinte selon une inclinaison montante lui donnant une surface suffisante pour intercepter la bouillie en excès par rapport à la quantité nécessaire pour réaliser le refroidissement et l'humidification instantanés des gaz chauds admis dans l'enceinte. Selon la configuration adoptée, le déflecteur forme une pointe au point de rencontre de ses parties inférieure et supérieure. De cette pointe part une saillie orientée vers l'extérieur et légèrement sous la partie inférieure du déflecteur pour éloigner la bouillie liquide de cette partie inférieure et, ainsi, maintenir celle-ci à l'état sec et empêcher l'accumulation de bouillie en amont du tube d'admission de gaz chauds.
