The invention relates to a device for obtaining, in the manufacture of a high- strength composite, an indication that the reinforcement (1) of the composite has been wetted throughout by the matrix of the composite. The reinforcement at issue is of the type which mainly consists of threads or fibre bundles which do not become translucent/transparent when wetted by the matrix, for instance bundles of carbon fibres or aramide and the matrix of thermosetting plastic which is apllied in liquid state in the manufacture according to, for instance, the technique of hand lay-up. The reinforcement includes indicating threads/bundles (4) which become translucent/transparent when wetted by the matrix. A good indication is obtained if the indicating threads/bundles have such properties that they become translucent only when the adjoining reinforcing material has been completely wetted throughout. Preferably, the indicating threads/bundles are uniformly distributed across the reinforcement and in an amount that does not affect the properties of the composite in an impermissible manner.
L'invention concerne un dispositif pour obtenir, lors de la fabrication de composites à haute résistance, une indication que le renforcement (1) du composite a été mouillé complètement par la matrice du composite. Le renforcement en question est du type constitué essentiellement de fils ou de paquets de fibres qui ne deviennent pas translucides/transparents quand ils sont mouillés par la matrice, par exemple de paquets de fibres de carbone ou d'aramide, et d'une matrice d'une résine thermodurcissable appliquée à l'état liquide lors de la fabrication, par exemple par la technique de superposition manuelle de couches. Le renforcement comprend des fils/paquets indicateurs (4) qui deviennent transparents/translucides lorsqu'ils sont mouillés par la matrice. Une bonne indication est obtenue lorsque les fils/paquets indicateurs ont des propriétés qui leur permettent de devenir translucides uniquement quand les matériaux de renforcement adjoignants ont été mouillés d'une manière complète. De préférence, les fils/paquets indicateurs sont répartis d'une manière uniforme dans le renforcement, en une quantité qui n'influe pas sur les propriétés du composite d'une manière inacceptable.
