Abstract of the Disclosure A supporting idler wheel assembly for a belt- type coal or ore conveyor includes a spider, apparatus for mounting the spider on an axle, a rim divided into two rim halves, each attached to one axially facing side of the spider, and a two-piece liner or tire for the rim. Each of the two tire pieces includes a portion for positioning between one of the rim halves and a corresponding axial face of the spider. The tire halves are thereby fixed to the assembly by the same bolts, rivets, etc., which fix the rim halves to the spider. The improved assembly facilitates repair or replacement of the tire halves when they become worn.
