A wheel attachment for wheeled vehicles whose primary purpose is to quickly, easily and inexpensively protect such vehicles from theft. The present invention is comprised of a casing having front and side panels to help position the wheel. A U-shaped bracing, which may be bent towards the front of the casing at an intermediate point to better grip the wheel, is attached to the rear of the casing in such a way that it may pivot back and downwards to lie on the ground and guide the wheel into the casing as the vehicle rolls forward. A similarly shaped bracing, bent towards the rear of the casing, is attached to the front of the casing in such a way that it may pivot back and downwards up to a point where the upper portion of this bracing is approximately 45 degrees from the vertical. The front bracing is held in this position as the wheel enters the casing in order to lessen interference with the wheeled vehicle when it rolls forward, and is pushed forwards by the wheel as the wheel enters the casing until the front bracing is fully in the upright position. The front bracing is prevented from moving too far forward by a bar passed through both side panels of the casing just forward of the front casing, and prevented from moving too far back by a stud in each side panel of the casing just behind the front bracing. The wheel is secured in place by an rod-shaped locking mechanism passed through rings on the arms of the bracings facing away from the vehicle, which also prevents anyone but the owner from permitting the rear bracing to pivot. An extension spring is attached to each ring, and the locking mechanism passes through it as well. In order for this device to function properly for vehicles with low fenders, including most automobiles, the front bracing moves along grooves in the casing, allowing this bracing to lie flat as a wheel advances into the device, and to be pulled into locking position once the wheel is in place. This casing may be installed in parking spaces in garages and driveways. A further object of the invention is to convert such vehicles to winter use in snow, ice and unploughed roads, by removably mounting the casing on a ski which allows ease of movement through the snow.
