The wheel lock assembly includes a housing (10) that is either integrally formed on a frame (B), or provided as a separate component for adjustable mounting on the frame (B). The housing (10) includes a circular opening (12) that receives a disk (20) that rotates relative to the housing (10). A handle (30) is either integrally formed with the disk (20) or, alternately, secured to the disk as a separate component, to selectively rotate the disk relative to the housing. An actuating shoe (40) is pivotally mounted to the housing and includes a cam opening (44) that cooperates with a pin (46) secured to the disk (20) at a position spaced from the central axis of rotation of the disk to convert the rotational movement of the handle and disk into translational movement of the shoe (40). This allows the shoe to be moved between locked and unlocked positions relative to the wheel (C) of a wheeled apparatus such as a wheelchair, patient transport, stroller, or the like. The cam opening (44) may also adopt alternative configurations to vary the travel of the shoe as desired.
L'ensemble de blocage de roue comprend un logement (10) lequel est soit formé solidaire sur un cadre (B), soit disposé en tant que constituant séparé pour un montage réglable sur le cadre (B). Le logement (10) comprend une ouverture circulaire (12) recevant un disque (20) tournant par rapport au logement (10). Un manche (30) est soit formé solidaire du disque (20) soit, dans un autre mode de réalisation, fixé au disque en tant que constituant séparé, afin de faire tourner sélectivement le disque par rapport au logement. Un patin d'actionnement (40) est monté pivotant sur le logement et comprend une ouverture (44) de came coopérant avec un axe (46) fixé au disque (20) au niveau d'une position espacée de l'axe central de rotation du disque, pour convertir le mouvement rotatif du manche et du disque en un mouvement de translation du patin (40). Ceci permet de placer le patin dans des positions bloquées et débloquées par rapport à la roue (C) d'un appareil à roue tel qu'un fauteuil roulant, un appareil de transport de patient, une poussette ou analogue. L'ouverture (44) de came peut également prendre diverses configurations pour faire varier le déplacement du patin à volonté.
