A wheel retainer for the safety of all motor vehicles, and more particularly for trucks of all types, to prevent wheels or wheel assemblies from flying off moving vehicles in the event of axle breakage or other mechanical failure which would cause a wheel or wheel assembly to fly off. The wheel retainer comprises brackets for attachment to a truck frame and a retaining bar which is removably attached to the brackets, said bar and brackets being positioned to prevent the wheel or wheel assembly from flying off of the vehicle.
La présente invention porte sur un dispositif de sécurité routière destiné aux véhicules automobiles, plus précisément aux camions de tous genres, lequel dispositif sert à empêcher une roue ou un train de roues de se détacher d'un véhicule en mouvement en cas de bris d'essieu ou autre avarie mécanique. Le dispositif de retenue en question comporte des supports de fixation au châssis du véhicule, supports auxquels est reliée une barre de retenue amovible, l'ensemble supports de fixation et barre de retenue étant positionnés de manière à empêcher une roue ou un train de roues de se détacher du véhicule.
