ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A wheelchair with at least one electrically driven drive wheel, with a pair of power-steered steering wheels which can each be turned around an essentially perpendicular steering axis, and with a steering element to be activated by hand. Each steering wheel has its own steering motor for the adjustment of the steering angle of the steering wheels around the steering axis. The steering element is a mechanical-electrical steering angle transmitter, from which an electrical steering signal dependent on the angle position of the steering element is derived, which is fed into an electrical device, which, for the control of both steering motors for the adjustment of the steering angle of the steering wheels in regard to their steering axis, produces two adjustment signals, which are inversely proportional to the curve of radius. The steering angle can amount to up to 360°, through which a substantial manoeuvrability is provided. The steering angles nevertheless always precisely satisfy the laws of steering, so that a lateral jamming of the steering wheels and an increased wear on the tires of the same is thereby avoided.
