A wheelchair which shifts between forward and reverse by virtue of a roller mechanism which grabs in one direction and slips an opposite direction, thereby preventing binding. The shift mechanism is initiated by rotation of a shift paddle which is located on a extremity of a lever arm remote from the roller mechanism.

L'invention concerne un fauteuil roulant qui passe de marche avant en marche arrière et vice-versa au moyen d'un mécanisme à galets qui assure une prise dans un sens et patine dans l'autre, ce qui empêche une torsion. Ledit mécanisme d'inversion de sens de marche est déclenché par rotation d'une palette située sur une extrémité de bras de levier distant du mécanisme à galets.
