"WHEELCHAIR LIFT ASSEMBLY FOR BUSES" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A horizontal rail is externally mounted to the rear and door-side walls of a bus, close to the upper edge thereof. The rail extends between a travel position on the bus rear wall and an operating position at a door opening in the side wall. The base of a lift is suspended from the rail and is slidable therealong. A folding wheelchair lift is attached to the base and is vertically movable therealong between elevated and ground positions.
