The invention relates to well bore deflector tools which are used primarily for deflecting tools, lining and the like through a window which has been milled in the side of a well bore casing. A deflector tool (1) is provided with a deflector face (3) at the upper end thereof and means (9, 10) for selectively gripping and releasing a tie back receptacle (8) and/or a well bore casing (6) at a location below the deflector face (3). The gripping means (9, 10) is operable for gripping in response to engagement of the deflector tool (1) with a tie back receptacle (8). Accordingly, the invention provides a simple and automatic means for locking the deflector tool in a required angular position.

L'invention concerne des outils de déviation pour puits de forage, destinés à être utilisés essentiellement pour dévier des outils, une garniture, ou tout autre dispositif similaire, par l'intermédiaire d'une fenêtre laminée sur le coté du revêtement dudit puits de forage. Un outil de déviation (1) présente une surface de déviation (3) au niveau de son extrémité supérieure, ainsi qu'un organe (9, 10) destiné à saisir et relâcher sélectivement un récipient de raccordement (8) et/ou un revêtement de puits de forage (6), à un emplacement situé en-deçà de ladite surface de déviation (3). L'organe de saisie (9, 10) est destiné à saisir le récipient en réponse au contact entre l'outil de déviation (1) et ce récipient de raccordement (8). Cette invention concerne également un organe à la fois simple et automatique permettant de bloquer ledit outil de déviation dans la position angulaire adéquate.
