A coating composition useful for building materials products, especially roofing surfaces, is provided. The coating composition provides durable exterior protection to surfaces that it applied to, and it has reflective properties. The coating composition includes a mixture of a polymeric binder, a polymeric carrier and a pigment. The pigment is present in the coating composition in amount that is capable of providing a coating that has an initial energy efficiency rating greater than or equal to 0.65 for a low- sloped roof, or an initial energy efficiency greater than or equal to 0.25 for a steep-sloped roof.
L'invention concerne une composition de revêtement utile pour des produits de matériaux de construction, notamment pour des surfaces de toiture. La composition de revêtement assure une protection extérieure durable pour les surfaces sur lesquelles elle est appliquée et elle présente des propriétés réfléchissantes. La composition de revêtement comprend un mélange d'un liant polymère, d'un support polymère et d'un pigment. Le pigment est présent dans la composition de revêtement en une quantité qui permet d'obtenir un revêtement présentant un taux de rendement énergétique initial supérieur ou égal à 0,65 pour un toit à faible pente, ou un taux de rendement énergétique initial supérieur ou égal à 0,25 pour un toit à forte pente.
