WICKING SOCK ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved knit sock having superior wicking and moisture handling properties that provides desired aesthetics of hand comfort and softness on both the in- side and outside surfaces of the sock. A unique four- layer construction insures that moisture is not only main- tained out of contact with the skin of a wearer's foot but also out of contact with shoes or boots worn over such a knit sock. Further, the desired level thermal in- sulation for the wearer's foot is maintained while at the same time damage to the shoe or boot is substantially prevented because of the presence of a moisture layer next to the interior of such boot or shoe.
