The invention provides an increased field of vision. By having a flat surface, and a curved edge, this type of mirror allows the driver to see into what would normally be the blind spot, thus effectively eliminating the blind spot. The flat surface allows the driver to see a non distorted view of the side of the truck, where it is important to have a clear view, especially when backing up. And the curved edge allows the driver to see the wider picture where a blind spot would normally be without having to look at another mirror.
