The invention concerns an optical modulator comprising a waveguide structure forming a two-wave interferometer made of an electro-optical material, and comprising two arms, a set of electrodes connected to a controllable electric source for applying an electric field on at least one of the arms of the interferometer, so as to vary the phase difference between light waves along one or the other of the two arms. It comprises two sets of electrodes placed respectively on each of the interferometer arms, one in the non-reversed region of the electro-optical material, the other in the reversed region, and a delay line placed between the control electronics of the electrode sets introducing a delay equal to the light propagation time in the first electrode set.
La présente invention concerne un modulateur optique comportant une structure en guide d'onde constituant un interféromètre à deux ondes formé dans un matériau électro-optique, et comportant deux bras, un ensemble d'électrodes relié à une source électrique commandable permettant l'application d'un champ électrique sur l'un au moins des bras de l'interféromètre, de manière à faire varier l'écart de phase entre des ondes lumineuses suivant respectivement l'un ou l'autre des bras. Il comporte deux ensembles d'électrodes placés respectivement sur chacun des bras de l'interféromètre, l'un dans une région non inversée du matériau électro-optique, l'autre dans une région inversée, et une ligne à retard placée entre les électroniques de commande des ensembles d'électrodes introduisant un retard égal au temps de propagation de la lumière dans le premier ensemble d'électrodes.
