It is known that flotation devices, with or without attached lines, may be thrown to persons in distress in water. In this invention, the size of the device is reduced to allow more accurate and longer throws. This compactness enables the device to be carried on the smallest of crafts or vehicles and on one's person. Additionally, the life-line is contained neatly coiled to protect it from exposure to the elements and to ensure that, even after long periods of storage, the line is released without snagging or knotting, so ensuring maximum distance of throw.
