A winch (1), a vehicle including the same and a method of operating associated thereto. The winch (1) is used with a strap (15) for fastening a load onto a transportation vehicle, and comprises a tightening assembly (3) and a gear assembly (5). The tightening assembly (3) comprises a support structure having first and second support flanges (7, 9) and a cross member (11) extending between the flanges (7, 9). The cross member (11) is devised for mounting onto a corresponding side track of the vehicle. The tightening assembly (3) also comprises a tightening reel (13) for receiving a portion of the strap (15) to be tightened about said reel (13), the tightening reel (13) being pivotally mounted onto the first and second support flanges (7, 9). The gear assembly (5) is operatively connected to the tightening assembly (3), and comprises a gear (17), a worm (19), and a casing (21). The gear (17) is securely mounted about the tightening reel (13) so as to rotate with said reel (13). The worm (19) is positioned adjacent to the gear (17) and operable between a first configuration where the worm (17) is away from the gear (19), and a second configuration where the worm (17) is threadedly engaged with the gear (19) so that a rotation of the worm (17) drives the tightening reel (13) via the gear (17), along opposite directions of rotation, for either fastening or unfastening the strap (15) onto the tightening reel (13). Excess portion of the strap 15 may be wound about a winding assembly (27) which is removably mountable onto the tightening assembly (3).

La présente invention concerne un treuil (1), un véhicule équipé de ce treuil, et le procédé de mise en oeuvre correspondant. Ce treuil (1), qui s'utilise avec une sangle (15) permettant d'arrimer une charge sur un véhicule de transport, comprend un dispositif de blocage (3) et une pignonnerie (5). Le dispositif de blocage (3) comprend une structure support faite de deux joues supports (7, 9) et d'un élément transversal (11) réunissant les deux joues (7, 9). L'élément transversal (11) est conçu pour sur se monter sur une voie latérale du véhicule. Le dispositif de blocage (3) comprend également une bobine de blocage (13) destinée à recevoir une partie de la sangle (15) à bloquer autour de la bobine (13), laquelle bobine de blocage (13) est montée pivotante sur les deux joues supports (7, 9). La pignonnerie (5), qui est fonctionnellement couplée au dispositif de blocage (3), comprend un engrenage (17), une vis (19) et un carter (21). L'engrenage (17) est monté pivotant autour de la bobine de blocage (13) de façon à tourner autour de cette bobine (13). La vis (19), qui est disposée contre l'engrenage (17), admet deux configurations fonctionnelles, l'une par laquelle la vis (19) est éloignée de l'engrenage (17), et une deuxième par laquelle la vis (19) s'engrène sur l'engrenage (17) de façon que la rotation de la vis (19) entraîne la bobine de blocage (13) via l'engrenage (17), selon des sens de rotation opposés, soit pour bloquer, soit pour débloquer la sangle (15) sur la bobine de blocage (13). Le surcroît de longueur de la sangle (15) peut être enroulé sur un ensemble d'enroulement (27) pouvant se monter amovible sur le dispositif de blocage (3).
