A wind powered electrical generation assembly (10) having a portable wind powered generator tower (14) for supporting a wind powered generator (12) allowing the wind powered generator (12) to be raised, lowered, and removed from the tower (14). The wind powered electrical generation assembly also includes a vertical elevator (24) on the tower (14) configured to vertically lift the wind powered generator (12) with a carriage (46) to position the wind powered generator (12) at a top of the tower (14) . The wind powered electrical generation assembly (10) further includes a wind powered generator (12) having at least spars (98) and at least six airfoils (16) with mating cams (156, 180) to rotate the airfoils (16) relative to the spars (98) as the airfoils (16) move along the spars (98) towards an end (164) of the spars (98) as wind passes the airfoils (16).
