This invention is referred to by its inventor as a wind turbine engine. Principles of physics and aerodynamics are applied in a different way than with present state of the art wind turbines. It has the equivalent of a supercharger surrounding its intake aperture, providing both intake and velocity increase. This is followed by a containment cylinder arrangement slightly outside the tips of its internalized turbine blades, whereby a very high percentage of its wind throughput is accessed by twelve or more blades. With this invention, shorter and more numerous turbine blades are mounted on a large diameter rotor, with its blades being contained within the outer 50% of the radius from axle center to the blade tips. This provides a significant improvement in mechanical advantage, and much higher torque. In front of the said turbine rotor, is a half sphere head which blocks off and redirects oncoming wind within 50 % of its frontal radius from axle center to its blade tips. As confirmed by the inventor's consulting engineers, the said spherical head provides a net oncoming wind speed increase of 46% before the speeded up and somewhat compressed wind addresses the turbine blades. Since we are dealing with cubic volume of mass in motion, the available kinetic energy in watts per square meter, following such velocity increase amounts to 1.46 cubed, or 311% of the energy available at the prevailing oncoming wind speed. The supercharging effect referred to is provided by a compound curved intake scoop arrangement in front of, radially outward, and extending forward from the intake aperture of the wind turbine engine. The compound curve built into the intake scoop speeds up oncoming wind to a similar extent as is done by the said half spherical head mounted in front of the turbine rotor, and some compression is also created. This can be significant. (for example, 25% compression = 1.25 cubed, = 1.953, = 95% more available energy.)
