A method of monitoring the performance of a wind turbine (1) uses bending momentdata from strain sensors (4) in the turbine blades (2) to calculate rotational speed of the turbine (1), angular position of the turbine blades (2), drive torque and resultant load on the rotor (3). The method has the advantage that the inputs to the drive train of the wind turbine can be (5) measure directly.

L'invention concerne un procédé de surveillance de la performance d'une éolienne (1). Le procédé utilise des données de moment de flexion générées par de capteurs de déformation (4) situés dans les pales d'éolienne (2) pour calculer la vitesse de rotation de l'éolienne (1), la position angulaire des pales d'éolienne (2), le couple d'entraînement et la charge résultante sur le rotor (3).
