Abstract The invention relates to an apparatus for winding plastic foil around a round bale consisting of hay, semi-dried grass or straw. The apparatus comprises a frame and a winding table attached thereto and intended for receiving a round bale to be wound around. The frame may be attached to a round bale press. The round bale to be wound around is guided to a loading bracket via a roller grid. For transferring the round bale to the winding table, the latter is pivoted in the direction of the loading bracket. For transfer purposes, both the loading bracket and the winding table are pivoted until the winding table is in the horizontal winding position. For unloading the finish-wound round bale, the winding table is tilted backwards, i.e. away from the loading bracket. This design achieves a shorter unit and improves the transfer of the round bale on to the winding table into the winding position.
