ABSTRACT: A winding device in which the winding wire is fed from a feed spool to an asymmetrical core or jig to be provided with a winding, so that the wire consumption periiodically varies with the angle of rotation. Between the feed coil and the core or jig there is arranged a wire tensioning device which is formed by two plates which are arranged at some distance from each other and which are maintained at a distance from each other by two side strips. The gap formed between the plates is closed on one side by a closing member comprising an inlet opening and an outlet opening for the wire and also an inlet for compressed air. One of the side strips is constructed o be gas-permeable.
